At this year’s election, Jochem Herrmann, co-founder and chief scientist of Adimec, has replaced Toni Ventura-Traveset of Datapixel as the new president of the EMVA. The board and general manager thanked Ventura-Traveset for his work as association president during a transition phase, as well as his continuous support for the EMVA since its founding in 2003.
Herrmann, who has been a board member since 2013, commented on the election.
"The transition period now clearly lies behind us and for EMVA it is now time to expand our activities and further grow the association," he said. "I am looking forward to further develop EMVA together with my fellow Board members and the whole EMVA team."
In addition to electing a new president, the EMVA also elected an extended board of directors, including Dr. Kai-Udo Modrich, Managing Director of Carl Zeiss Automated Inspection, and Prof. Dr. Bernd Jähne, who heads the Heidelberg Collaboratory for Image Processing of Heidelberg University.
Previous EMVA members were also re-elected, including Gabriele Jansen (Vision Ventures, Germany), Michel Ollivier (Tiama, France), Toni Ventura-Traveset (Datapixel, Spain) and Dr. Jean Caron (Euresys, Belgium). Furthermore, Ollivier took on the role of EMVA Vice President, while Caron takes over as treasurer. Dirk Käseberg (Mettler-Toledo Garvens, Germany) has resigned from the Board to focus on increased responsibilities at his company, but will continue to work closely with the EMVA Board in a less formal manner.
